Without question, the Inspired Fourplay frame ridden by Danny MacAskill has changed the course of street riding. The fun and versatile geometry and ride characteristics of the bike allowed Danny to truly explore what is possible. Following over two years of testing, revising and yet more testing with some of the best street riders in the UK, Inspired is extremely proud to bring you the Fourplay 24" frame.
The Fourplay frame offers an un-paralleled combination of 'bmx style' flow (for spins and manuals), while also allowing riders to experiment with the technical side of 'traditional' trials riding such as sidehops and gaps. Combining these two riding styles opens up new possibilities for what is possible on a bike.
With a slightly steeper than normal steering angle, control and maneuverability when on the front wheel are increased, making tailwhips and backwards nose rolls a piece of cake (after a bit of practice anyway)! 385mm chainstays with a +35mm bottom bracket height offer excellent balance between back wheel control for more static tricks and rolling stability for techniques such as manuals.
By using a minimalist design approach and an attention to detail with the tubing selection, strength to weight ratio of the Fourplay frame is excellent! Keeping the amount of CNC parts on the frame to a minimum, only in significantly beneficial areas, the total weight has been kept down to little over 2kg, while still using reassuring 2mm thick 7005 aluminium tubing for the downtube and chainstays. The little bit of CNC construction that made it on to the frame has been kept as clean and organic as possible, ensuring the stylish looks of the frame are maintained. This once-piece CNC chainstay yoke and bottom bracket shell offers excellent stiffness and also superb strength, with excess material removed to help reduce weight. Furthermore, an externally reinforced headtube with top and downtube gussets helps increase strength at the front of the bike.
The Fourplay comes fitted with 4-bolt style Magura brake mounts to fit the extremely popular HS33 hydraulic rim-brake. However, for the v-brake fans out there, don't worry, because a number of parts manufacturers offer adaptors to convert the frame to v-brake mounts.
Each frame is finished in a tough gloss-finish paint and a self-adhesive graphics kit, so you can be as bold or subtle with the graphics as you like! Colour options include Pure White, Baby Blue and British Racing Green.
When all is said and done, riding bikes of any kind is about fun. By offering ride characteristics suitable for bmx-influenced spins, bunnyhops and manuals, but also traditional trials moves such as sidehops, gaps and taps, the Fourplay is likely to give you the most fun and biggest grin you have ever had on a bike!
