How old are you and where are you from?
27 years old from Inverness, Scotland
What is your day job?
Full time blindfolded cat herder at Drop and Roll.
Apart from working and riding, what do you like to do?
Riding and working pretty much takes up most of my time but I like to hang out with friends and am partial to the odd party.
Every top rider needs to be well fuelled, what is your favourite food/drink?
I try to eat as healthy as possible which is easier said than done, especially when we are away on the road. I mostly eat chicken and steak and loads of eggs :)
What kind of music do you listen to?
I Listen to all sorts really so its hard to pick specific genres. Anything from folk to dance and hip hop depending on the time and place.
How long have you been riding and how did you get into it?
I got my first trials bike when I was 13 so I have been riding for 14 years now.
Who are you favourite riders and why?
There so many awesome riders out there its hard to pick. I grew up watching the Martins, Ackrigg and Hans Rey but I like to watch anything from pure trials videos all the way to BMX clips. I have learnt a lot from riding with Ali and Danny over the last couple of years and more recently riding with Fabio.
What would be your ideal day?
Ideal day would be. Getting up pretty early to do some sweet business for a couple of hours then head out riding for a couple of hours either by myself or with the boys followed by some sort of non riding but fun activities like a BBQ or a party.
Where is the best place you have ever ridden?
Its a tough one because I have been lucky to travel to so many spots. My favourite natural spot would probably have to be Buthiers. I would love to go back there on my Inspired. When it comes to street, my current hometown Glasgow has some great street. I also loved riding Malaga when we were there a few months ago. There is so much stuff to ride and the weather seems to be pretty good all year round.
What motivates you to ride?
My main motivation for riding is to have fun and try to keep progressing and learning new things.
What are your favourite things about riding an Inspired?
After riding traditional trials bikes for so many years it was so refreshing to start riding more streety stuff on my Inspired. I love how you can ride pretty minimal basic spots for hours without getting bored.
Can you give us a quick rundown of your current bike spec?
My current set up is a Silver Fourplay Team specced up with mostly Inspired and Trialtech parts. Magura MT7 Brakes. Hope Hubs. Pretty much my dream set up so I don't think I will be changing it anytime soon.
Do you have a website?
I actually don't have an official website right now but If anyone is wanting to see what I am up to they can either my Instagram page (@duncshaw) or my facebook page (facebook.com/duncanshawtrials)
